Peter brings with him a wealth of experience and success in the VAFA competition. Peter’s career has been dedicated to the development of young men as a teacher and he has a strong reputation with students and parents. In his impressive coaching career, he has shown a strong capability in managing and implementing new programs and seeing them through to completion.
Peter comes across from Old Xaverians Football Club, where he spent the majority of his 218 games in the VAFA. Peter’s outstanding coaching record includes coaching the Under 19 Old Xaverians to a Premier Division premiership in 2015, a year in which he was awarded the Under 19 Coach of the Year. He was the OXFC VAFA A Grade reserve Premiership coach in 2007. In 2006 he was the Senior Assistant Premiership coach at Old Collegians (B Grade) where he played a major part in creating a new culture at the club.
Men’s Senior Assistant Coach- Patrick Kennedy
The Kew Football Club is extremely excited to welcome Patrick Kennedy into the senior assistant ranks for 2017! Kennedy will work closely with Senior Coach Peter Callinan, who have shared a strong coaching relationship at Old Xaverians Football Club.
Patrick began his coaching career at Old Xaverians in 2012 and he has held various roles in the Under 19’s since. He spent 3 years assisting the recently appointed Callinan including the 2015 Under 19 Premier section premiership. Patrick brings great football knowledge and enthusiasm to coaching as it is something he wants to take as far as possible.
Men’s Reserves Coach- Paul Brough
Kew Football Club is extremely excited to announce another new addition to it’s coaching panel for 2017… 100 game player and 3 time senior premiership ruckman, Paul Brough has been formally appointed as head coach of the club’s Reserve Grade side.
Having just retired from playing at the end of season 2016, Paul has re-committed himself to the club in a new role that will test him many new ways.
Most around the Bear Cave know “TP” as a very talented, determined and smart player, but coaching has been a long-held aspiration of his and for “Teeps” this is a very natural progression for him. Senior coach Pete Callinan, along with the entire Kew FC committee believe he will be an absolute asset to the already strong coaching ranks going into next season and beyond.
Men’s Thirds Coach- Nathan Monarco
The pieces of the puzzle just keep falling into place at Kew FC! 2017 really is set to be a huge year at the Bear Cave! We are very pleased to announce another outstanding addition to the men’s coaching panel, with the re-signing of Thirds coach, Nathan Monaco for another season! As well as coaching the Premier C Thirds, Nathan will also take on another role in Pete Callinan’s coaching team, adding a new string to his bow! In 2017, Nathan will become the club’s specialist development coach; a new coaching role in this new era of professionalism. Congratulations Nathan, you are an integral part of Kew Football Club and certainly have a bright future in coaching at Victoria Park!
